(LEARFIELD) – The Milwaukee Brewers raced past the Chicago Cubs 9-3 Tuesday night, doubling their lead in the division standings to two games.
The Cubs broke on top with a run in the second, but Milwaukee matched it, went ahead in the third inning, and controlled the rest of the game.
The bases were loaded when Andrew Vaughn hit his ninth homer of the season in the sixth inning and he talked about it.
Vaughn said that the win is great but there is still a long way to go in the season.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy agreed with Vaughn.
Quinn Priester earned his 10th win, and Aaron Ashby got the save with three-and-a-third relief innings.
Murphy said those 2 were eating innings.
Freddy Peralta starts this afternoon as the Brewers go for the sweep of the series.
The game can be heard beginning with the pre-game show at 12:35 and the first pitch at 1:10 on 1440 and 101.9 WNFL.
