(LEARFIELD) – Could the Green Bay Packers defense be exceptional this season?
Possibly.
For starters, Packers coach Matt LaFleur likes what he has seen so far from Javon Bullard.
LaFleur also talked about working Quay Walker, Edgerin Cooper and Isaiah Simmons at linebacker – tough for defenses.
Love’s what he’s seen: LaFleur spoke about Jordan Love’s article in the Players Tribune and talked about his development.
LaFleur said that Love has learned a lot in terms of maturity.
Love’s backup: Packers backup quarterback Malik Willis didn’t have a lot of time to learn the Packers offense when he was acquired last season. This year he spent the off-season in Green Bay really soaking in the offense.
Willis was asked if there is anything he wants to show during the preseason opener against the Jets on Saturday.
Willis talked about the Packers loaded wide receiver room with at least 5 wide receivers brought back, 2 drafted and a handful of viable unrestricted free agents.
The Packers face the New York Jets in the pre-season opener Saturday night at 7 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
