SISTER BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Thousands lost power Saturday in Door County as a result of strong storms moving through the area.
The Sister Bay Fire Department opened its Red Cross shelter at the fire station for those who need a place to stay or to charge devices.
Door County Emergency Management is also encouraging residents to stay off the roads due to heavy damage to trees and power lines.
Cleanup continues Sunday. Power has mostly been restored. At least 72 remained without power as of 3:00 pm, mostly in the northern part of Door County.
