(GREEN BAY ATHLETICS) – MOON TOWNSHIP, PA – The Green Bay women’s soccer team split points with Robert Morris on the road, tying the Colonials 2-2. The Phoenix now has its first point in the Horizon League standings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The match’s first score came in the 10th minute on behalf of a Robert Morris goal by Paloma Swankler. The Colonials doubled their lead just 12 minutes later in the 22nd minute, this time from Ava Threthway. RMU looked to be running away with the game until Rebecca Stoeckmann scored her second goal of the season to cut the lead in half in the 32nd minute. Stoeckmann had another chance a couple of minutes later, but the Phoenix entered the half down 2-1.
It didn’t take long in the second half for Green Bay to score again and even it up. Nice team play in the 49th minute led to a Bella Brozek goal, her third of the season, to make it a 2-2 game. Both teams battled the remaining 40 minutes, but neither was able to find a go-ahead goal as the game ended in a draw.
