(WLUK) — The Door County Sheriff’s Office was not amused by one driver’s “shine of creativity.”
On Friday night, deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding on State Highway 42 and discovered something that isn’t seen every day.
The vehicle was missing a driver side headlight, and a handheld flashlight had been placed and pointed forward as a substitute.
While an attempt was made to increase visibility, the sheriff’s office says a flashlight is not a safe or legal replacement for proper headlights.
Headlights play a critical role in nighttime visibility and safety, deputies say. Drivers are encouraged to check their vehicle equipment regularly before traveling.
