(WTAQ-WLUK) — Snow in excess of 30 inches is expected to fall today in parts of Northeast Wisconsin as a powerful winter storm system moves through the area.
The National Weather Service in Green Bay has issued a blizzard warning lasting until 4 p.m. Monday. A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect until 4 p.m. Sunday.
Fox 11, our TV weather partners, report that the heaviest snow area at this time looks to be from Green Bay northward. Some locations in northern Door and West of the Bay may accumulate 30 inches of snow between now and Monday afternoon.
A Wintry Mix is expected for the southern parts of the area Sunday morning and that will limit snowfall totals. 12 to 18 inches is expected for Oshkosh, Fond du Lac, and Manitowoc. 6-12 inches looks likely around Sheboygan.
Everyone north of Oshkosh should expect at least 18 inches.
Winds could gust up to 50 mph Sunday afternoon through Monday afternoon leading to widespread drifts and near zero visibility.
