PDP Smart Dairy Workshops set for April 15, 16; limited spaces available
DAIRY NEWS – A new interactive workshop presented by Professional Dairy Producers® (PDP) will help dairy producers and management teams implement artificial intelligence (AI) tools on their operations. The Smart Dairy Workshop will demonstrate ways they can use artificial intelligence to connect data across systems, identify meaningful insights, and support stronger, more proactive management decisions.
“There is no shortage of data available on today’s dairy farms. The ability to use AI and other tools to harness that data for more effective decisions will set forward-thinking dairy operations apart,” said Brady Weiland, Columbus, Wis., dairy producer, and PDP Board member. “The Smart Dairy Workshop will be a unique opportunity to learn from leading experts using real-world case studies that we can use to develop a plan for our own operation.”
Two repeating sessions of the Smart Dairy Workshop will be held on Wed., April 15, at Chippewa Valley Technical Center in Chippewa Falls, Wis., and Thurs., April 16, at Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center in Manitowoc, Wis. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the program will conclude at 3:45 p.m. each day.
The program will be facilitated by Dr. Jeffrey Bewley, PhD, Holstein Association USA Executive Director of Genetics and Innovation, and Dr. Miel Hostens, PhD, the Robert and Anne Everett Associate Professor of Digital Dairy Management and Data Analytics in the Department of Animal Science and a visiting professor at Belgium’s Ghent University Lab for Animal Nutrition and Animal Product Quality. Both bring a combination of research and real-world expertise to guide workshop participants through interactive scenarios.
PDP Smart Dairy Workshop is accredited for up to 4.25 Dairy AdvanCE (DACE) continuing education credits. Pre-registration is required for the program; space will be limited to maintain workshop style. Learn more and register at www.pdpw.org or by contacting PDP at 800-947-7379.
