GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The National Railroad Museum in Green Bay celebrated an important milestone Saturday night.
July 18 marked the 70th anniversary since National Railroad Museum started.
To celebrate, the museum held a fundraiser Saturday night to bring together supporters, members, and railroad enthusiasts.
Food, drinks and various activities including a silent auction were on hand for the event.
Organizers said it’s exciting to recognize how far along the museum has come over the years.
“It started with a few local businessmen that wanted one locomotive and they got some space to display that locomotive in what was at the time called Cook Memorial Park, and now 70 years later here we are,” National Railroad Museum Communications Director Liz Van Pay said.
Van Pay said tonight’s fundraiser will help with museum restoration efforts.
The goal is to continue expanding the museum for years to come.
