WINNEBAGO COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — As recovery from Monday’s tornado continues in Menasha, Neenah and Appleton, Winnebago County authorities provided information for those interested in volunteering or donating.
A volunteer reception center has been set up at the former University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Fox Cities campus, 1478 Midway Rd., Menasha. Those interested in helping cleanup efforts can report there between 8 a.m.-8 p.m. to be deployed to areas in need.
Donations of these items will also be accepted:
- Heavy-duty trash bags
- Coolers
- Ice
- Nonperishable food
- Gatorade
- Protein drinks
- Disposable silverware & utensils
- Garbage bags
- Trash grabbers
- Personal protective equipment (work gloves, safety glasses, hearing protraction, safety vests)
- Hygiene products (items for sensitive skin appreciated)
Do not bring water or clothing to this location.
Clothing donations can be dropped off at the Community Clothes Closet, 1465B Opportunity Way, Menasha, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Friday. Gunderson Cleaners is also accepting clothing donations at any of its locations.
People in need can pick up supplies at:
- Former UWO Fox Cities campus
- Heckrodt Wetland Reserve, 1305 Plank Rd., Menasha
- Neenah-Menasha Elks Lodge, 328 Nicolet Blvd., Menasha
Financial contributions can be made through United Way Fox Cities.
Feeding America is also distributing disaster boxes of sandwiches, fresh fruit and vegetables Wednesday until supplies run out. They will be available at:
- Heckrodt Wetland Reserve
- Jefferson Park, 915 Third St., Menasha
- Smith Park, 301 Park St., Menasha
The following locations are also open as cooling and/or electronics charging stations:

- Calvary Bible Church, 1450 Oakridge Rd., Neenah
Those in need of mental health support can call the Winnebago County crisis line at 1-920-233-7707.
A boil water notice remains in effect for people in Fox Crossing east of the Fox River, as well as people in Menasha, Appleton and Harrison who are served by Fox Crossing Utilities. Water to be used for cooking, drinking or ingesting in any way should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute. Tap water can be used for hand-washing, bathing and laundry.
Menasha Utilities crews continue to work to restore power, assisted by crews from 16 other agencies. The public is asked to stay away from power restoration operations so crews can work as quickly as possible.
Temporary flight restrictions for drone operators are in place over the area.
