(LEARFIELD) – With a running game that has gone nowhere, an offensive line in transition and a leaky defense, Packers coach Matt LaFleur has had a busy week.
Thursday LaFleur talked about getting his 3 new offensive linemen ready to play.
The goal, according to LaFleur, is to get the run game going and then open things up.
LaFleur talked about using 3 running backs and not just 1.
And he said that the new guys don’t need to know the entire playbook.
LaFleur was asked if that makes learning the offense easier.
What can the Packers expect from the Tampa Bay defense?
LaFleur said that he expects a positive response from his defense.
That Tampa defense: In getting ready to face a Buccaneers defense that gives up yards on the ground only grudgingly, Packers center Sean Rhyan talked about working next to the team’s new veteran guards.
He also talked about facing Tampa’s defensive front.
And on the hard conversations they’ve had with coaches this week.
Rhyan talked about what a guy the size of Mehki Becton does for them.
Rhyan was asked how confident the team is that the offensive line can be fixed.
He said that they’re not sure why they’ve struggled but they are ready to change for the better.
The Packers and Buccaneers kick off at noon on Sunday.
