(WTAQ-WLUK) — The father of convicted murderer Steven Avery has died.
Avery’s attorney Kathleen Zellner announced the news that Allan Avery died Friday.
Allan Avery appeared in the 2015 Netflix series “Making A Murderer,” which cast doubt on the process used to convict Avery and his nephew, Brenden Dassey, for the murder of Teresa Halbach.
Steven Avery’s mother, Dolores Avery died in 2021.
Both Allan and Dolores Avery maintained their son’s innocence.
Steven Avery is currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole at Fox Lake Correctional Institution in Wisconsin for the 2005 murder of Teresa Halbach.
