GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A fire station on Green Bay’s west side is set to reopen Friday, more than four months after it sustained flood damage.
Fire Station 3, 885 Shawano Ave., had been closed since June 24, when a storm left more than an inch of rain in the city. As a precaution, electrical service was disconnected and the station’s personnel and apparatus were assigned to other stations.
The city council approved an emergency declaration in August, paving the way for $50,000 worth of repairs to the station’s electrical systems; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment; and water heaters.
