WISCONSIN (WTAQ-WLUK) — Wisconsin voters have made their choice for the state’s next governor.
Democrat David Crowley defeated Republican Tom Tiffany in last night’s gubernatorial race, making history as Wisconsin’s first Black governor.
David Crowley’s victory over Tom Tiffany marks a major shift in state leadership, following a closely watched campaign that brought voters across Wisconsin to the polls.
Crowley celebrated his win Tuesday night, thanking supporters and those who helped get him to this moment.
Tom Tiffany did much of the same in his concession speech last night thanking his supporters and those in his camp.
The celebration comes as the state prepares for a new chapter under Crowley’s leadership.
Crowley spent the morning holding private transition meetings and sitting down with state lawmakers to begin work on his legislative agenda.
He is expected to speak Wednesday afternoon, addressing his plans for Wisconsin and the responsibility that comes with being the state’s next Governor.
With a new administration on the way, Crowley will soon have the opportunity to turn his campaign promises into action.
