HOWARD, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Howard Village Board approved a revised deer hunt Monday that aims to reduce the deer population in the community.
In an 8-1 vote, the board passed a 12-part plan from the Deer Control Committee.
The program increases the hunting areas from two to four. Only one or two hunters will be allowed to hunt each site at any given time.
Field dressing will be allowed at the Howard Industrial Dog Parks.
Hunters will be able to earn a buck by harvesting two does, and they may donate one or both does to Paul’s Pantry.
It’s likely the program is implemented for the archery hunting season, which starts Sept. 13.
