(GREEN BAY COMMUNICATIONS) Wednesday afternoon, the Horizon League announced the 2025 Under Armour #HLVB Preseason Poll. The Green Bay Phoenix volleyball team was picked third by the league coaches.
Wright State was picked to win the conference with 94 points and six first-place votes, with Milwaukee coming in second with 86 points and one first-place vote. Green Bay received 80 points with one first-place vote.

SEASON PREVIEW
Head coach Abbey Sutherland enters her eighth season at the helm of the Green Bay Volleyball program, holding a 115-92 record prior to the start of the 2025 season. GB has made back-to-back Horizon League Championship appearances.
The Phoenix will start the season this weekend at the NC State Invitational. Their weekend will start with a match against Akron on Friday at 2:30 p.m. CT, followed by a showdown with NC State on Saturday, and Army on Sunday.
Green Bay will continue non-conference play with three more tournaments, starting with the Wisconsin Invitational on September 4-5, the South Dakota Invitational on Sept. 11-13, and finally Kendall’s Battle at the Capital Credit Union Classic hosted in Green Bay on Sept. 18-20. The official home opener for the Phoenix is on Thursday, Sept. 18, against Western Michigan at 6 p.m. CT.
Phoenix fans will not have to wait much longer for the team’s Horizon League opener, with GB hosting Youngstown State for a weekend doubleheader starting on Friday, Sept. 26, and Saturday, Sept. 27. League play will stretch through October and conclude when GB travels to Robert Morris on November 14 & 15.
