GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Three Northeast Wisconsin residents are among the 10 cheeseheads competing to become part of the Packers FAN Hall of Fame.
Finalists were announced Friday in the search for the 28th inductee.
Back in November, the Green Bay Packers invited fans to nominate themselves — or a family member, friend, coworker or loved one — with a photo and an essay of 500 words or less explaining why he or she should be recognized. 10 candidates were then chosen by the Packers FAN Hall of Fame selection committee.
A trio of potential new members are from our area:
- Jeff Goldapske from Appleton
- Jeff Lanier from Green Bay
- Lorraine Mueller from Wittenberg
Three others are from different parts of Wisconsin:
- Mark Murphy from La Crosse
- Dean Schmitz from Wausau
- Patrick Suplicki from Stevens Point
And the remaining four hail from other states:
- Patrick Hare from Moreno Valley, California
- Daniel Schneider from Crystal Lake, Illinois
- Valerie Ann Smick from Yorkville, Illinois
- Thomas Thrall from Durham, North Carolina
Packers fans are encouraged to read each of the finalists’ profiles and vote online for their favorite. The winner will be decided using fan voting results and by the Packers’ selection committee.
The deadline to vote in Jan. 31 at 11:59 p.m. Voters will be entered into a random drawing to win Packers merchandise.
Late next month, the winner will be announced. They will receive four club seats to a 2026 Packers home game, four pre-game sideline passes, four passes to the Packers Hall of Fame, a custom Packers jersey, a $500 Packers Pro Shop gift certificate and a one-year subscription to PackersNews.com. The winner will also have his or her name added to the list of FAN Hall of Fame inductees in the Packers Hall of Fame.
Last year, the late John Brosig of Pound was chosen as the winner. Brosig’s son accepted the award on behalf of his father, who had recently died of cancer.
