(GREEN BAY ATHLETICS) – The Green Bay women’s basketball team is looking to continue its unbeaten start in the Horizon League, as they face last year’s runner-up, Purdue Fort Wayne, on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Kress Center. Following, Green Bay will travel to Milwaukee to face the Panthers on Saturday at 1 p.m.
PROTECT HOME COURT
Green Bay has been strong at home in 2025-26, starting the year 7-0. The Phoenix is 6-3 on the road and 0-2 on a neutral court.

Green Bay has been in the top five of the CollegeInsider Women’s Basketball Top 25 Poll most of the season. Green Bay is currently sitting at #7 in the latest poll from January 6th.

ABOUT THE MASTODONS
Purdue Fort Wayne is led by reigning Horizon League Coach of the Year Maria Marchesano, who helped PFW reach its first Horizon League Championship game in program history in her fourth season. The Mastodons are led by the Horizon League’s top scorer, Alana Nelson, who averages a conference-best 17.2 points per game. PFW also gets 10.8 points per game from Lili Krasovec and 10.3 points from Jordan Reid, the Mastodons’ lone returning starter from last season.

ABOUT THE PANTHERS
After starting Horizon League play 0-4, Milwaukee has gone 2-1 since, including a stunning 66-58 win over Cleveland State last Sunday, led by a season-high 20 points from Junior Jorey Buwalda. Buwalda leads Milwaukee in scoring, averaging 12.1 points per game, while also leading the entire Horizon League with 9.1 rebounds per game, good for 44th among all Division I players this season. Jorey additionally leads Milwaukee with 1 block per game, 5.8 assists per game, while leading the Panthers squad with 28.3 minutes per game. Milwaukee will take on Northern Kentucky on Wednesday before hosting the Phoenix.
