KIMBERLY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A multi-platinum pop band from the 90s and early 2000s is playing a free concert in Kimberly this summer.
Smash Mouth will perform July 16 at Kimberly’s Paperfest.
Bursting onto the global stage in the late 1990s, Smash Mouth quickly became a household name with chart-topping hits like “Walking on the Sun,” “All Star” and their iconic re-imagining of “I’m a Believer.” Their music dominated radio and major film soundtracks, most notably becoming forever woven into pop history through the Shrek franchise.
The concert begins with That 90s Band at 5 p.m. Smash Mouth will close out the night at 8:30 p.m.
Paperfest will be held at Sunset Park from July 16-19. The 38th annual free-admission event will feature a food truck rally, carnival rides ($1 rides Sunday), a hot air balloon glow, fireworks and more. The festival will offer over 35 free live music acts across three stages, including national headliners. The proceeds from Paperfest are donated back into the community through various local nonprofit organizations.
Last week, Paperfest organizers announced country music star Lauren Alaina would be Friday night’s headlining performance.
