(WNFL) – The Milwaukee Brewers avoided a sweep at the hands of the Pittsburgh Pirates with a 5-0 victory at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
Kyle Harrison threw a gem for Milwaukee, baffling Pirates batters into striking out 12 times. He allowed only 1 walk and 1 hit over 6 innings.
Trevor Megill, Aaron Ashby and Abner Uribe each pitched an inning to complete the shut out.
The Brewers scored all 5 of their runs in the fourth inning.
The runs came on a ground out, a single by Luis Rengifo, a double by David Hamilton and a 2-run single by Brandon Lockridge.
Carmen Mlodzinski started and took the loss for Pittsburgh.
The Brewers have the day off Monday before opening a 3-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks at American Family Field on Tuesday.
