GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Northeast Wisconsin radio personality and nightclub general manager is facing child pornography and drug charges.
39-year-old Daniel Lieburn, whose on-air name on 95.9 KISS FM was Dan Brown, was charged Wednesday with one count of possession of child pornography and six drug-related counts. He made an initial court appearance Wednesday. A $50,000 cash bond was set. He returns to court May 28.
A spokesperson for Woodward Community Media, which owns KISS FM, said Lieburn is no longer employed by their company. WCM released the following statement to the media:
Daniel Lieburn, known on air as Dan Brown, is no longer employed at Woodward Community Media. We have no further comment at this time.
Lieburn told authorities he was also the general manager of XS Nightclub in Green Bay. It is unclear if he is still employed there.
According to the criminal complaint, police received an online tip last May of a video of child sexual abuse material being shared from a Snapchat account. Investigators tied the account to Lieburn and served a search warrant Tuesday at his parents’ home in Howard, where he lives.
Authorities took his cellphone, which had the Snapchat account tied to the child sexual abuse material. Lieburn admitted having seen and sent the video.
“I have been addicted to young, teenage boys since I was about 17 years of age,” he said in a statement, according to the criminal complaint. “I am sorry for what I have done. I believe I need some mental health help for my problem.”
Investigators said they also found prescription painkillers belonging to his mother and to his ex-boyfriend. Lieburn said he was taking the pills for pain resulting from an accident. Authorities also found marijuana-related paraphernalia in Lieburn’s bedroom.
