(WTAQ-WLUK) — Two men living in Sturgeon Bay and Two Rivers were arrested as part of an investigation into the distribution of narcotics, firearms and fraudulent documents.
According to authorities, from January to April, undercover law enforcement agents purchased over 700 grams of cocaine, nearly 3,000 grams of methamphetamine, eight firearms and manufactured illegal documents.
Numerous suspects were identified as operating across several jurisdictions in Wisconsin. Last month, busts in Manitowoc and Door counties resulted in multiple arrests and the recovery of evidence related to drug trafficking efforts.
Among the individuals taken into custody were Arquimides Arias-Hernandez, who was living in Two Rivers, and Santiago Trujillo-Alvarez, who was living in Sturgeon Bay. Federal immigration detainers were placed on both men. They remain in custody at the Manitowoc County Jail on $500,000 cash bonds. Both are facing narcotics distribution counts, with the case being reviewed for further charges.
“Strong partnerships lead to safer communities, and this investigation reflects that commitment,” said Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig and Two Rivers Police Chief Ben Meinnert in a joint statement Saturday.
Involved in this investigation and operation were:
- Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit
- Drug Enforcement Administration Green Bay office
- Door County Drug Unit
- Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
- FBI
- Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation
