GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The active threat alarm at UW-Green Bay was accidentally set off Monday, officials said.
In a Facebook post around 2:30 p.m., the university said, “Earlier this afternoon, our campus public address system was unintentionally activated during a scheduled contractor-led upgrade to UW-Green Bay’s fire system, resulting in a false active threat alarm.”
UWGB confirmed students and staff are safe, adding, “Thank you to everyone who responded calmly and followed Run-Hide-Fight guidance. Your safety remains our highest priority.”
You can enroll in GB Alert, the university’s campuswide emergency notification system, to stay in-the-know at all times.
