(LEARFIELD) – Milwaukee Brewers center fielder Garrett Mitchell went 4-for-4 with a double, triple, and an RBI in Wednesday’s 4-2 win over Cincinnati at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
It was Mitchell’s run-scoring triple in the seventh inning that put Milwaukee ahead to stay.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said that Mitchell is a great story.
Murphy said that it’s great to watch him play with confidence.
As for Mitchell, he said that his confidence has never waivered.
Mitchell said that he felt more confident as the game progressed.
Mitchell’s triple made a winner out of reliever Aaron Ashby. He has 12 wins this season.
Shane Drohan started for Milwaukee and pitched 5 2/3 innings. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits and 1 walk. He struck out 7.
Trevor Megill earned his 12th save.
Milwaukee goes for the sweep this Thursday afternoon.
Jacob Misiorowski starts the final game of the series. Misiorowski is 9-3 with a 1.45 ERA.
The Reds will counter with Chase Burns who is 9-1 with a 2.36 ERA.
