(WNFL) – Jackson Chourio hit an infield single and Arizona pitcher Ryan Thompson threw the ball away on the same play to score 2 runs in the 11th inning of the Brewers’ 7-4 win in Arizona.
Brice Turang added 2 more runs in the inning for the Brewers on a single that scored Christian Yelich and Chourio.
The Brewers bullpen combined for 8 1/3 innings of work, allowing just run.
That was needed after starting pitcher Kyle Harrison lasted just 2 2/3 innings, allowing 3 runs on 72 pitches.
Grant Anderson got the win for the Brewers.
Thompson took the loss for Arizona.
Turang and Jake Bauers both had 3 hits for Milwaukee. Garrett Mitchell hit his 8th home run of the season.
The 2 teams meet again tonight with Brandon Woodruff (2-1, 2.59 ERA) pitching for Milwaukee and Merrill Kelly (5-8, 5.84 ERA) pitching for Arizona.
