(MARQUETTE COMMUNICATIONS) – Marquette University Cross Country has announced the program’s 2026 schedule, which features four regular-season meets, three postseason events, and a home meet at Veterans Park on Sept. 25.
“Our team has been working incredibly hard, and I’m excited to see that effort pay off this season. One of the meets I’m most looking forward to is the Jim Allen Classic, which will bring collegiate cross country back to Milwaukee’s lakefront in a great atmosphere during Parents Weekend. We’re also grateful to the donors who are making our trip to Virginia possible and providing our student-athletes with a memorable competitive experience. Ultimately, the season will be defined by the BIG EAST Championships and NCAA Regionals, where we’ve made steady progress and believe we’re ready to take another step forward. We’ve built a strong foundation, our young athletes have matured, and we’ve added some talented newcomers. I have high expectations for this group, and now it’s up to us to live up to them,” Associate Head Cross Country Coach Jack Hackett said of the 2026 campaign.
The Golden Eagles open the season on Sept. 12 at the Phoenix Open in Green Bay before returning to Milwaukee to host the Jim Allen Classic on Friday, Sept. 25 at Veterans Park. Marquette travels to South Bend, Ind. for the Joe Piane Invitational on Oct. 2, followed by a trip to Charlottesville, Va. for the Panorama Farms Invitational on Oct. 16 to close out the regular season.
The postseason begins on Oct. 30 at the BIG EAST Championships in Mechanicsville, Va. at Pole Green Park. The Golden Eagles will then compete at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships on Nov. 13 in Lansing, Mich., with the NCAA Championships set for Nov. 21 in Terre Haute, Ind.
