A Lamers school bus (Lamers)
MENASHA, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Lamers Bus Lines lost dozens of school buses in the July 27 EF-3 tornado, the company announced Tuesday.
Lamers says about 50 buses were totaled at the Fox Cities terminal in Menasha. Around 130 more sustained damage ranging from broken windows, roof hatches, lights or windshields, or being covered in dirt and insulation from nearby buildings.
The terminal building was also totaled and will be razed. Employees are currently working from the terminal in Freedom.
Lamers says it is hiring school bus drivers and a maintenance technician as the school year approaches. Lamers’ Fox Cities terminal covers the Appleton, Hilbert, Kimberly, Menasha and Stockbridge school districts.
