GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Jessica Wright was sentenced Tuesday to 14 years in prison, in the latest sentencing for a Green Bay-to-Chicago drug ring.
Wright, 46, previously pleaded guilty to six counts, including delivery of fentanyl and cocaine. She was also placed on extended supervision for six years by Judge Donald Zuidmulder, court records show.
Five search warrants were executed in Brown County in July 2024. A simultaneous search of a stash house in Chicago yielded 12 kilograms (26 pounds) of fentanyl, four kilograms (nine pounds) of cocaine, 748 grams (1.6 pounds) of meth, 460 grams (one pound) of heroin, 16 guns and some marijuana. Prosecutors have since said this case was Wisconsin’s first wiretap investigation for fentanyl and at least 47 people are facing charges.
Several other suspects in the case have already been sentenced:
- Felton Currie, who police identified as the ringleader, was sentenced to 40 years in prison
- Cheri Austin was sentenced to 15 years in prison
- Michael Oliver was sentenced to 15 years in prison
Three other suspects have cases pending:
- Ebony Austin will be sentenced Sept. 18
- Kyla Sanache has a status conference Oct. 9
- James Grandberry is scheduled to stand trial Oct 19
Grandberry also has an appeal pending, arguing his charges should be dismissed because he waited for more than a year to get an attorney and have a preliminary hearing — something typically required within 10 days.
