GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin is expanding its footprint on North Broadway, marking construction of a new mentoring center designed to serve more children and mentors across the region.
The new center is an expansion of the organization’s current facility. Once completed, the added space will give existing mentor-mentee matches a dedicated place to spend time together. It also will allow Big Brothers Big Sisters to offer programming for children who are still waiting to be matched with a Big.
More than 100 kids across Northeast Wisconsin are currently waiting for a mentor, and most wait six months or longer to be matched. A grand opening is planned for November.
