GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — One person is dead and another is in custody after a two-vehicle crash on I-43 in Green Bay Monday evening.
The crash happened shorty after 5:30 p.m. on I-43 northbound near STH 54/57. Investigators say a pickup truck rear-ended a sedan.
The driver of the sedan has only been identified as a 55-year-old man from Sheboygan. Despite life-saving measures on scene, he was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Authorities are withholding his identity pending notification of next of kin.
The pickup driver, a 29-year-old Green Bay was arrested on a felony charge of Operating While Suspended Causing Death.
Police say there were no passengers in either vehicle.

Green Bay Police credited the Green Bay Metro Fire Department with helping assess fire, electrical and flammable-material hazards and establishing safety measures for responders. The department’s Drone Unit also assisted with scene photography. Police also thanked the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Police Department for their assistance.
