Sep 26 (Field Level Media) – The Ottawa Senators traded for Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Jonas Johansson, the team announced Friday.
Johansson, who went 11-10-2 in net last season, was acquired for future considerations.
The 31-year-old spent the last three seasons as the backup to Andrei Vasilveskiy in Tampa Bay, appearing in 70 games with 65 starts. That stint resulted in a 3.28 goals-against average, including 3.29 goals against in 2025-26, when the Lightning finished second in the Atlantic Division.
A former third-round draft pick of the Buffalo Sabres, Johansson has played for Buffalo (2019-2021), the Colorado Avalanche (2021, 2022-23), the Florida Panthers (2022) and the Lightning.
After posting a .884 save percentage last year, he now has a career GAA of 3.30 and a career save percentage of .888.
