DE PERE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Brown County is starting work on Phase II of its Fairgrounds Development Project.
County leaders broke ground Tuesday from the banks of the Fox River.
Phase II of the project includes adding campsites to the riverfront of the Brown County Fairgrounds in De Pere and connecting a riverfront trail to Ashwaubomay Lake Park through NEW Water’s property.
Work on the second phase is expected to be complete by spring.
This is part of a much larger plan to ultimately connect the west side trail with the Fox River Trail on the east side by extending the west side trail to the Claude Allouez Bridge- creating a big loop.
