(WNFL) – Week 7 of high school football is upon us and the first a game to take a look at is a monster.
West De Pere with its 6-0 record heads to Bay Port to face the 6-0 Pirates in the Fox River Classic Conference-North.
West De Pere has outscored its opponents 227-49 with 2 shutouts.
The Phantoms are led by Andrew Greisen who has completed 107-of-170 passes for 1,322 yards and 16 touchdowns.
His top receivers are Colton Neuens with 30 catches for 318 yards, Parker Diedrich with 21 catches for 302 yards and Darian Acevedo-Ortiz with 21 catches for 243 yards.
But that’s not all.
West De Pere runs the ball well, too. Kainan Strong has run the ball 56 times for 566 yards. Cooper Schabo has 63 carries for 388 yards.
When on defense, find Braylan Stegall. That’s actually pretty easy to do because he’ll be near the ball. Stegall has a team high 49 tackles including 13 for lost yardage. Jake Rodewald and Nolan Brooks are both next in line with 32 and 31 tackles, respectively.
Bay Port has outscored its opponents 232-49 with the Pirates’ lowest offensive output 28 against Kimberly in Week 2.
At quarterback, Bay Port has its 2-headed beast with Bray Babich completing 43-of-54 passes for 930 yards and 9 touchdowns and Braydon Maney completing 37-0f-47 passes for 711 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Running the ball is spread out with Ryan Timmerman rushing for 333 yards on 41 carries, Jackson Smith with 268 yards on 34 carries, Maney with 251 yards on 34 carries and Babich with 230 yards on 35 carries.
Jackson Otradovec is the Pirates’ leading receiver with 21 catches for 462 yards. Ethan Orlando has 14 catches for 330 yards and Jackson Smith 12 catches for 351 yards.
Asher Fontaine has a team-leading 44 tackles with 8 for loss. Larz Hanson and Jordy Walker are next in line with 29 and 24 tackles, respectively.
Notre Dame at Menasha: In the Fox River Classic Conference-South, unbeaten Notre Dame at 6-0 and 4-0 heads to Appleton to face the Menasha Bluejays 5-1 and 4-0 at the Banta Bowl.
Kingston Allen leads the Tritons with 1,701 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns on 135 carries.
If the Tritons need to pass the ball – which they haven’t had to a lot – Jackson Bouthilet has completed 20-of-29 passes for 472 yards and 3 scores.
Joey Massey has caught 10 balls for 278 yards.
Defensively, look out for Jonah Marzec with 34 tackles and Jackson Whitehouse with 30.’
Notre Dame has outscored its opponents 240-0 in its last 4 games.
In its last 4 games, Menasha has outscored its opponents 160-31.
The Bluejays are led on the ground by Logan Bivens, Keonte Thigpen and Xavier John. The trio has rushed for 684, 433 and 203 yards, respectively.
John has completed 28-of-47 passes for 519 yards.
Shamir Senyange is the leading receiver for Menasha with 18 catches for 369 yards.
Defensively, Isaac Foster and Thigpen are 1-2 in tackles with 50 and 49, respectively. Thigpen has a remarkable 12 tackles behind the line of scrimmage.
Denmark at Little Chute: Both teams come in with 5-1 records and 3-1 records in the North Eastern Conference.
The Vikings are coming off a 53-32 win over Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian.
Denmark prefers to run the ball, having attempted on 33 passes.
Zack Freeman leads Denmark with 480 yards rushing on 65 carries. Kase Bradley and Gentry Brown are next with 293 and 261 yards, respectively, on a team that averages 6.0 yards per carry.
Freeman has completed 12-of-22 passes for 216 yards.
Brayden Jeanquart has caught 7 of the passes for 186 yards.
Defensively, Brown has a team-high 43 tackles including 8 for loss.
Little Chute is coming off a 49-29 loss to Freedom.
The Mustangs are a run-oriented team with only 30 pass attempts.
Reece Joten is the Mustangs leading rusher with 553 yards on 81 carries.
While defenses may key on him, he has a stable full of equally talented backs including Jaden Hermsen with 344 yards rushing, Charlie VandenHeuvel with 294 yards rushing and Tylet Hietpas with 271 yards rushing. Trevor Verhagen has added 178 yards rushing.
Little Chute averages 7.7 yards per carry.
Hermsen has completed 11-of-28 passes for 126 yards.
On defense, Reece Joten is the leading tackler with 47 tackles. Trevor Verhagen and Layton McMahon both had 24 tackles.
Manitowoc Lutheran at Hilbert: This game is a Thursday night special in the Big East between the 6-0 Lancers and the 4-2 Wolves.
Manitowoc Lutheran is 4-0 in the Big East while Hilbert is 3-1.
Manitowoc Lutheran has outscored its opponents 198-7 including 4 straight shutouts while Hilbert has outscored its opponents 193-70.
The Lancers can move the ball on the ground and in the air.
When running the ball, Manitowoc Lutheran is led by Josiah Martin with 607 yards rushing. Isaiah Hochmuth has rushed for 275 yards with Ethan Brooks adding 262 yards rushing. Hochmuth can also throw the ball, completing 29-of-44 passes for 366 yards.
Charlie Vogel has been the main receiver with 9 catches for 115 yards.
Defensively, Roman DiMarco must be accounted for. The junior has 45 tackles. Blake Ott has 27 tackles including 10 for lost yardage and a team-high 5 sacks.
Hilbert is led on the ground by senior Jack Pakala with 792 yards rushing on 84 carries. He has also scored 14 touchdowns. Ezra Sevala has added 570 yards rushing on 88 carries.
Kendrix Grenzer has completed 24-of-56 passes for 217 yards for Hilbert. Sevela has been the main receiver with 14 catches for 149 yards.
Aaron Halbach and Pakala are the team’s leading tacklers with both having made 33 stops. Pakala has 12 tackles for loss.
Sevastopol at Algoma: Both teams come in 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the Packerland-8 standings and trail Valley Christian by 1 game. Algoma has outscored its opponents 234-71. Sevastopol has outscored its opponents 203-67.
Sevastopol is led by Bo Tanck. Tanck is a do-everything player for the Pioneers, completing 58-of-100 passes for 1,066 yards and 15 touchdowns while rushing for 340 yards and 6 TDs on 48 carries.
Roman LeClair is next in line rushing with 292 yards on 29 carries. LeClair has also caught 15 passes for 204 yards.
Cash Kuehn is Tanck’s leading receiver with 27 catches for 614 yards and 8 TDs.
Defensively, look out for Ray Johnson. The senior has 52 tackles on the season. Harry Schartner has 43 tackles including 13 tackles for loss and 6 sacks.
The Wolves like to run the ball as demonstrated by them rushing for 1,707 yards and throwing for 426 this season.
Ethan Melotte has 798 yards rushing on 113 carries. Jack Meverden is next with 300 yards rushing.
Melotte can also throw the ball, completing 19-of-32 passes for 426 yards and 6 TDs.
His favorite receiver? Cooper Fay with 12 receptions for 341 yards.
