UW System urges students, parents to respond to direct-admit letters sent to seniors

(WTAQ-WLUK) — High school seniors across Wisconsin who recently received “direct admit” letters are being urged to respond, as Universities of Wisconsin leaders promote a program designed to streamline the path to college.

The Direct Admit Wisconsin program automatically admits qualified high school seniors to participating UW colleges without requiring them to fill out an application.

Universities of Wisconsin leadership discussed the program with Neenah High School leaders, emphasizing the importance of helping students find the educational path that fits them.

“Our universities have a responsibility to be active partners with our high schools in that process. We should be helping students discover their interests, explore careers, understand their educational options and see how those opportunities connect to their goals. Direct Admit is a wonderful example of what we can accomplish when we work together to remove barriers and open doors,” said Julie Edstrom, UW-Oshkosh vice chancellor for enrollment.

The University of Wisconsin website has a list of participating high schools available on their website.
