The team took down the Milwaukee Brewers 4-3 in Game Three of the National League Division Series from San Diego.
Xander Bogaerts scored the game-deciding run on a throwing error in the sixth inning.
JoJo Romero took the loss for the Brewers.
William Contreras homered and reached four times, but the Brewers left 11 runners on base, including late chances in the seventh and ninth.
Milwaukee rallied with three straight two‑out singles in the seventh and drew two walks in the ninth, but Christian Yelich’s game‑ending double play sealed it just after midnight
The Brewers’ Brice Turang said that the Brewers lineup which had 11 hits did a good job despite the outcome.
Turang said that San Diego is a hostile environment to play in.
Cooper Pratt said that the team battled.
Yelich said that the team fought hard but just fell short in the ninth inning.
Walker Buehler will get the starting nod for the Padres.
The Brewers have not announced a starting pitcher.
