Wisconsin picked up a pair of wins over unranked conference opponents this past weekend, sweeping Maryland at home before picking up a 3-1 win over Iowa on the road. The Badgers combined for some of their top offensive performances of the conference slate this season. Setter Charlie Fuerbringer and opposite Decelise Champion both picked up weekly conference awards behind their prolific showings.
The Badgers finished with a hitting percentage of .344 (42-10-93), holding Iowa to a .155 (35-18-110) performance last Friday. Middle blocker Lynney Tarnow set a career-best record against Maryland, tallying eight blocks over the Terrapins.
On Sunday, middle blocker Jaela Auguste emerged as a standout at the net, posting a career-high 20 kills on 29 attempts. Her performance was good for a .552 swinging percentage, marking the third time this season that the junior has clipped above a .500 performance. Fuerbringer turned in 55 assists on the afternoon, matching her season-high and leading UW to a combined .337 (69-20-130) performance.
Last year, the Badgers defeated the Huskies 3-1 in Seattle and will look to extend their two-match win streak on Friday. Washington leads the series 6-3 all time and holds a 2-1 advantage in Madison.
UW will look to maintain their winning streak over Michigan on Sunday, as the Badgers have secured victories in nine consecutive matches against the Wolverines. The Badgers have only dropped five matches to the Wolverines at the Field House in program history.
After this weekend, Wisconsin will head out West to take on USC in Los Angeles. The match is set to start at 9:00 p.m. CT and will be streamed on B1G+.
