TOWN OF RANTOUL, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The North Pole Christmas Village is open in Rantoul. The village, once located in Kaukauna, opened on Thursday with pandemic restrictions in place.
Mariah Schiedermayer of Appleton says visiting the North Pole has become a tradition for her family.
“It’s just something to do for fun, to get out, not be stuck in the house all the time,” Schiedermayer said.
Santa’s helpers say 20,000 people typically visit the North Pole display each year. This year, it may be less because of COVID-19, but that doesn’t mean the magic is gone.
Display creator Troy Campbell says there are strict COVID-19 precautions in place at the North Pole.
Anyone is welcome to visit. During select times, there is an option to book a private showing.
“We do two families per time slot. They can come if you have medical conditions or you’ve got too many kids. It does not matter, it’s not restricted at all,” Campbell said.
You can book a private showing by contacting Campbell through email or his Facebook page.
Campbell hopes his displays keep people’s spirits high this year, and that they never let those spirits fade.
