SHAWANO, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Another county has issued an arrest warrant for a suspect in a series of driveway asphalt scams, after he again failed to appear in court.
Mico Miller, 27, was scheduled to appear Tuesday in Shawano County court on one count of theft by false representation. Miller did not appeal so a warrant was issued, and the state will start proceedings for the forfeiture of the $10,000 cash bond, court records show.
The non-appearance comes less than a week after Miller failed to show for a Winnebago County case.
In the Brown County cases, prosecutors allege Miller showed up at people’s homes unsolicited, offering to reseal their driveway. After getting an initial payment in cash — $3,000 in one case — Miller stopped work part-way through and then demanded additional payments.
Miller was also charged in several other counties, with substantially similar allegations in each:
- In Waupaca County, he was convicted of theft by false representation, and ordered to pay $5,500 in restitution.
- In Calumet County, a pre-trial conference on two theft counts is set for Thursday
- In Brown County, he was convicted of two counts of theft by fraud, and is scheduled for sentencing Friday
- In Dane County, he faces ten charges, and is scheduled for a pre-trial conference July 30
Various counties have Miller’s residence listed as in Green Bay, a suburban Milwaukee hotel, or Texas.
