GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Green Bay’s next police chief is coming from the Portland, Oregon Police Bureau.
Christopher Davis, who has 27 years of law enforcement experience, was formally selected from a pool of four finalists on Thursday.
Prior to his time in Portland, he also served with the Arizona State University Police Department. Chief Davis holds a Bachelors in Justice Studies and a Masters in Public Safety Leadership and Administration from Arizona State University. In addition, he is a graduate of the FBI Academy and the Police Executive Leadership Institute.
PFC President Rod Goldhahn stated, “The Commission is very excited to have Chief Davis join our team and look forward to introducing him to the department members and community. In a group of very strong finalists, Chris stood out with his breadth of experience and success in the collective areas of police service that the community and department noted were of highest importance.”
Chief Davis noted, “I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to lead the Green Bay Police Department. Green Bay is an amazing community served by a great police department, and my family and I are excited to make it our new home.”
Davis and his wife, Ann, have three teenage children.
Davis will succeed Andrew Smith, who retired in May.
