TOWN OF POY SIPPI, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Authorities have released the names of three men killed when their car flipped over, flew through the air and hit a tree Tuesday in Waushara County.
The driver was identified as Santiago Perez Domingo, 26. The passengers were Silvino Apolinar Mateos, 26, and Sergio Estuardo Morales De Leon, 38. The Wisconsin State Patrol says all three men were from Mexico.
Investigators say the crash happened on Highway H, west of Badger Drive, between Poy Sippi and Lake Poygan.
Troopers say the car was headed east on H when Perez Domingo lost control around a curve. The car went onto the right shoulder and into a ditch. It then spun around and hit a grass driveway, sending the car into the air. The State Patrol says the car flew for about 70 feet before it hit a tree roof-first.
It’s believed the car was speeding.
Only Apolinar Mateos was wearing a seat belt, the State Patrol says.
