I’ve documented my burger blog too often to count. Refresher.
When I go out to eat the question isn’t what or where I’m going to eat. The question is what kind of burger am I going to have.
Out of sheer respect for the mantra, “if you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all” I’ll intentionally leave out the name of our last supper.
To celebrate my daughters birthday we went to a higher range restaurant. I knew a “good” burger and fries would cost $15. I was okay with that.
What wasn’t okay?
The burger was small. Like really small. It was good, but the worst part?
The fries were cold. Not just mine, but I snuck a few from my wife’s plate and hers were too. Without wanting to embarrass the family or ruin the experience I didn’t say anything beyond, ” McDonadl’s has never let me down”. They haven’t.
Basically a signal to the world. My burger and fries were over priced and just not that good. They weren’t. For $15 I got a small “okay” bacon cheeseburger and a small side of cold french fries. But I didn’t mention a word to the server. Would you?
I did the math in my head. I could’ve dined at many of the other places two or 3x for the price of this.
Oh well. Live and learn. What you pay for isn’t always what you get.
