GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The total number of shots-fired incidents in Green Bay overnight Thursday into Friday is up to seven, with three people behind bars.
Officers say the first happened around 6:40 p.m. in the 1200 block of Berner Street. A home was hit, and police found three shell casings.
Just after 7 p.m., vehicles and a building were hit in the 200 block of De Leers Street. Police found 21 shell casings in the area.
Around 7:30, a home was hit in the 800 block of Hubbard Street. Fourteen shell casings were recovered. That was the scene of two separate shootings last week.
The next call was to the 1600 block of Amy Street at 11 p.m. In this incident, bullets hit the exterior of an apartment building, with two bullets getting inside the building. Three shell casings were found.
Ten minutes later, back in the 1200 block of Berner Street, a bullet went through the window of a home. One shell casing was found.
Just after 11:50 p.m., officers were called to the 800 block of Bellevue Street, where they found one shell casing after a bullet went through a front door.
Finally, just before 3 a.m. in the 1000 block of Velp Avenue, a person putting air into a tire was shot at. The victim’s vehicle was hit. Caleb Williams, 22, of Milwaukee, was arrested in Ashwaubenon after a chase. There was no known connection between Williams and the victim. Officers found six shell casings in the area of Velp and Atkinson Drive.
Police are recommending Williams be charged with battery, possession of a firearm by a felon, resisting an officer, second-degree recklessly endangering safety and eluding an officer.
Wang Lee, 32, of Green Bay was also arrested. Police are recommending he be charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a narcotic drug, possession with intent to deliver amphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The third man arrested is Joshua Sepulveda, 38, of Green Bay. Police are recommending he be charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, two counts of possession with intent to deliver amphetamine and possession of a narcotic.
Police discussed the shootings and arrests during a news conference Friday. The news conference to address gun violence in the city had been previously scheduled before the night of violence.
