APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Appleton police say it’s a crime to take donated items left outside Goodwill stores after responding to a number of theft complaints.
Officers say items that are donated are property of the store and are not considered abandoned items that people can rummage through and take.
Goodwill says it generally recommends donating at donation centers staffed by attendants.
