KIEL, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — For the second day in a row, Kiel Middle School has received a bomb threat.
Police say the threat was sent over email Tuesday morning. School had already been called off for the day at all the district’s buildings, so no one was there. Police searched the building and did not find any explosives.
The bomb threat referred to an ongoing investigation into the use of non-preferred gender pronouns by students toward another student. “Threatening communications” toward the district in the wake of the investigation have led the school board to postpone a regular meeting scheduled for this week by two days and move it to virtual-only participation.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice has been called in to help investigate the source of the threats.
