GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Brown County has announced that it will be awarding part of its remaining American Rescue Plan Act funding to 16 local nonprofits. ARPA funds are intended to be used for relief to community members recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach says that the county’s Board of Supervisors has agreed that one of the most effective ways to support the community is through its nonprofit organizations that assist families and individuals.
Each nonprofit received up to $100,000.
The Boys & Girls Club of Green Bay was one group that received $100,000. It plans to use the funds to bring a mental health counselor on staff in collaboration with Family Services, which also received funding.
Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin received $46,830 to support start-up costs for their Mental Health Access Project with two in-training therapists.

- Connections for Mental Wellness – $35,000
- CP Center, Inc. – $100,000
- Encompass Early Education and Care – $100,000
- Golden House, Inc., Safe Home – $100,000
- Green Bay YMCA – $91,848
- Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & UP – $9,000
- NEW Community Shelter – $13,000
- Options for Independent Living – $30,000
- Rawhide Youth Services – $100,000
- Salvation Army of Green Bay – $40,000
