APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A new mural was unveiled at Appleton’s Saving Paws Rescue Shelter.
The mural shares the face and the story of 22-year-old Tyler Anderson, who died of fentanyl poisoning a year ago.
It also features his best friend, Mya, a dog he adopted from the shelter.
Tyler’s parents explain what they hope the mural does for others.
“I think it is going to bring awareness, just our story alone we told today about Tyler and the struggles he went through,” said his mother, Kari Mulder. “And our hope is that when people come in and adopt an animal or dog that the staff explain the mural and the story behind it.”
The Anderson-Mulder family has donated more than $16,000 to the shelter to help grow and rescue more animals.
