WISCONSIN (WTAQ) — If you’ve got a sweet tooth; you’re in luck. Local Girl Scouts begin their cookie selling season on Wednesday.
However, Girl Scout cookies are about more than being a sweet treat. Missy Brozek, Marketing & Communications Director at Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes, says the cookie sales help girls entrepreneurial skills.
“How to set goals, how to make decisions; which are sometimes individual decisions or in a group,” said Brozek. “Money management, people skills, and business ethics, which is really important.”
New this year, the Raspberry Rally cookie is only available online to encourage girls to learn about e-commerce.
After the cookie season is over, troops are able to use the money raised to learn through new experiences, and better their communities through projects they are passionate about.
The Girl Scout cookie selling season runs through April 2.
