GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The town of Glenmore and the village of Allouez were awarded the Voter Challenge trophies through Project VOTE of Brown County on Thursday.
Project VOTE of Brown County issues the voter challenge each election as a way of encouraging informed voter turnout in the county.
The two municipalities had the highest voter turnout percentages in their respective categories for the April 4, 2023 election.
Glenmore’s turnout of 62.3% of registered voters was the best among the municipalities in the Green Division, which is made up of municipalities with populations below 10,000.
“People have a passion for who is running in our town,” said Glenmore Clerk, Cindy Ossmann. “I think they get involved when they know there’s going to be a turnover in those positions.”
The voter turnout in Allouez was 56.7%, the highest percentage among the larger municipalities that make up the Gold Division.
It’s the second Voter Challenge victory for Glenmore and the sixth for Allouez.
