Julio Teheran has been a godsend for the wounded Milwaukee Brewers pitching staff. He made a second start since being plucked off the San Diego Padres Triple A club in Toronto Wednesday and gave the Brewers six strong innings in a 4-2 victory that squared the series at a game a piece. Teheran worked six innings, allowed just one, unearned run and four hits. He didn’t walk a batter and didn’t strike out a Blue Jay either, simply letting the defense do the work. Milwaukee’s offense got another unexpected lift from Abraham Toro, making his first start of the season at third base. Toro whistled a line drive, two run homer to right off Alex Manoa in the second inning to stake Milwaukee to the lead. They were held to a pair until Owen Miller came through with a clutch two run double down the left field line in the seventh inning. The Brewer pen finished it off with Devin Williams picking up the save. The Brewers moved to 29-26 and maintained a one game lead on the Pirates in the NL Central as Pittsburgh defeated San Francisco 9-4. Freddy Peralta will take the mound in the rubber game of the series against Kevin Gausman. Pre-game coverage begins at 11:30 AM with a 12:05 PM first pitch from Toronto on WNFL.
