ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Although AirVenture takes place in Oshkosh, Green Bay’s Austin Straubel Airport (GRB) says it’s ready to welcome aviation enthusiasts, too.
During EAA’s AirVenture, Wittman Regional Airport is the busiest in the world.
To alleviate some of that traffic, GRB is offering convenient and cost-effective options for private pilots with its two Fixed Base Operators (FBOs), Jet Air and Executive Air.
“The FBOs can take care of a lot of the logistics, such as arranging lodging, ground transportation, fueling, hangar space, and even repairs if they’re needed,” said airport director, Marty Piette. “They do a fantastic job of serving pilots and passengers.”
And for those visiting from outside of the U.S., GRB offers U.S. Customs clearance for free.
“GRB’s International Arrivals Terminal is right on site,” Piette said. “Travelers simply clear Customs at the terminal and then taxi over to park at one of the two Fixed Base Operator ramps, making it incredibly convenient.”
In addition to hosting hundreds of private planes during the event, GRB is a primary supporter of EAA Radio, the all-volunteer group that broadcasts what’s happening at AirVenture to attendees, as well as around the world via web stream.
EAA AirVenture will be held July 24-30, 2023 at Wittman Field in Oshkosh.
