GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Two people are injured, including a police officer, and five people are in jail after an alleged fight during a Green Bay funeral service Thursday evening.
The Green Bay Police Department says it received a report of a disturbance at Blaney Funeral Home on Shawano Avenue just after 7 p.m. Thursday.
When officers arrived, they found approximately 30 people fighting. Two people, including a police officer, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. However, the department says officers were able to de-escalate the situation.
Witnesses say the fight began when a visitor was asked to leave an in-progress service for allegedly causing a disruption.
